About Us

Laura Yell - Owner/Instructor E.R.Y.T 200

As a lifelong dancer, movement has always been an integral part of my life. I was first introduced to yoga in 2005, while pursuing my B.A. in dance and studied a variety of styles before finding my true passion after stepping into my first Hot Vinyasa Class.  I immediately felt at home on the mat and fell in love with the dynamic flow, the heat, and grace of the practice. I completed my yoga teacher training in 2007 and since that time I have had the opportunity to lead more than 2000 classes.  I am so grateful to all the teachers and students that inspired me along my journey. I am a true believer in the powerful benefits of yoga and am passionate about sharing its amazing transformative effects with everyone.

I came to yoga after identifying as runner for many years. I loved running, but knew I needed an alternative that would be more kind, but equally challenging to my body. Yoga provided that and more. The practice of yoga has taught me how to cultivate ease in effort, appreciate the present moment, unburden my mind, and breathe into discomfort. I am grateful for my teachers and for the opportunity to be a part of the Milwaukee yoga community. I believe yoga should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability, or experience. I hope to invigorate my classes with the dynamic flow of breath and movement and believe that each of us may discover greater strength and humility as we become more attuned to our bodies. In turn, we will be better able to serve others.

I started exploring yoga while in college as a means to relax and reduce anxiety. Over the next 15 years I would get on and off my mat, always loving what I learned but never fully committing to a steady practice. After having my second child, I realized how much I loved the physical aspect of yoga. My practice grew stronger as I grew stronger, in a physical and emotional sense. During this time I also caught the marathon and triathlon bug and
started competing; yoga became more and more important. After getting ready for two Ironman triathlons, I knew it was time to really come to my mat. I completed my certification with Meg Galarza and Bernie Rosen with YogaOne. What an incredible experience. I had been teaching spinning classes for a while and fell in love with teaching yoga. I love to teach. I love to learn. When I step on my mat I feel like I am learning so much from my students; it is a blessing. My style is strong, yet fluid. I love to challenge, yet honor the body. My own practice of Ashtanga yoga influences some of my teaching through connection to breath and movement. I am honored to call myself a yoga teacher.

Marci Nuckolls - Instructor C.Y.T. 200

I started practicing yoga 10 years ago after finding I was passionate about Pilates. I thought the two were related from a physical perspective and really enjoyed the mind, body, and spirit connection that yoga had to offer. I practiced here and there during my college years but became serious about my practice about 5 years ago. My mat is my second home and I truly crave the time I can dedicate on it. I became an instructor to share my healthy obsession with the practice and found that through instructing, I also learn from my students as much as they learn from my teaching. I enjoy challenging myself and my students through vinyasa to cultivate patience, understanding, and strength both on and off the mat.

Erin Highland - Instructor C.Y.T. 200

I discovered yoga while studying abroad in Italy in 2007 and since then my yoga path has been ever evolving. After moving back to Milwaukee, I began a more vigorous and regular practice which  led to a completing a 200-hour Vinyasa style teacher training in Maui. I was certified by passionate teachers Nadia Toraman and Karin Kuhn at the Maui Yoga Shala in Paia in 2012.

Kelsey Weaver - Instructor C.Y.T 200

I began practicing yoga in the summer of 2010, and soon discovered the strength and empowerment it created in my life both on and off the mat. My passion for yoga led me to complete my yoga certification with Deborah Williamson of Midwest Power Yoga and Live Love Teach™ in December 2012. I teach a powerful vinyasa flow class and try to bring calm and intensity to each class I teach, wanting every student to reach their full potential.
